The Works of Robert Browning

The Works of Robert Browning
These twenty-four volumes of the works of Robert Browning were published separately between 1871 and 1885 by Smith, Elder and Company in London. Of the set twenty two are first editions, the other two very early printings. Following a venerable tradition of fine book collecting, a set of uniform bindings has been created especially for these books: an original, yet classic design in period style - half leather over marbled boards. A thoroughly distinctive marbling pattern, created by a unique chemical process, perfectly sets off the olive green leather spines which are decorated with exceptionally fine gilt tooling and with five raised bands. Two leather labels, one black and one a darker green, complete and further complement the overall design. Without a doubt this is one of the finest modern bindings we have seen.
