Hand-written Letter by Louis Armstrong - A 3pp
letter signed "Louis Armstrong" from Armstrong in Birmingham,
England to Mezz Mezzrow, clarinetist and author of "Really the Blues".
Mezzrow was Armstrong's close friend, his mar ijuana supplier and, at one
point, his agent. Armstrong wrote this letter on his first European tour.
Includes envelope addressed to "Mr. Milton Messirow". Especially
intriguing is Armstrong's use of dashes throughout the letter, similar to
those sometimes used in poetry for emphasis of certain words. This is a rare
treasure from one of the greatest contributors to American music. Pleasant Street Books:: Woodstock, Vermont
